Import your Plausible history into Sumly
Switching from Plausible? Upload its export zip as it comes, or use a Stats API key, and Sumly brings your days with their pages, sources, campaigns, countries and devices.

Two ways to move
The export works on every Plausible plan. The Stats API is part of Plausible's Business plan, or any self-hosted Plausible.
-
1
In Plausible, open Site settings › Imports & Exports and choose Export to CSV. Plausible emails a link to a zip.
-
2
In Sumly, open Projects and payments › Import earlier history, pick the project, choose Plausible and upload that zip as it is. Or paste a Stats API key with the site's domain, and for a self-hosted Plausible its address.

The import runs in the background and the page follows it. Visitors shows those days, marked as imported from Plausible.
What you see once it is in
Plausible next to every other project and provider, on the same pages.
Visitors
The line, visitors, page views, bounce rate and visit length reach back before the script, with a note saying which days came from Plausible.
The lists of pages, entry and exit pages, sources, campaigns, countries and devices add those days.
Events and Goals
Plausible's goals and custom events count under their own names; a goal kept in Sumly for the same event adds them.
Overview
Revenue per 1,000 visitors and conversion for those months.
Counts toward your plan
Nothing: imported visits never count toward your plan. Plans →
What you don't get
No revenue attribution for imported days, and no import of event properties or funnels.
The details
What is read
- Visitors, page views, visits, bounces and visit length per day
- Each day's pages, entry and exit pages, sources, referrers and utm campaigns
- Each day's goals and custom events, with their people and how often
- Countries, devices, browsers and systems; with the Stats API also regions and cities
How it is read
- From the export: each CSV in the zip, by its columns, as Plausible's own importer reads them. The zip is deleted when the import is done.
- From the Stats API: each list by day, 10,000 rows a request, within Plausible's limit of 600 requests an hour.
- Only the days before Sumly's own script, and never a day Sumly already has.
Good to know
- Plausible keeps totals per day for each list, never single visits, so imported days have no people, journeys or funnels, and filters leave them out.
- Regions and cities in the export are codes, which Sumly does not import; the Stats API gives their names.
- Event properties are not imported, only each event's people and times.
Plausible questions
Which is better, the zip or the API?
The zip works on every plan and needs no key. The Stats API needs Plausible's Business plan or a self-hosted Plausible, and also brings region and city names.
Can I undo the import?
Yes. Import history lists each import with Remove, which takes out what it brought and leaves Sumly's own numbers alone.
Are visitors over a month exact?
They are the sum of each day's visitors, as Plausible itself counts imported history, so someone who came on two days counts twice for those days.
